Another couple for the growing cult. These are the fantastic Bob Olley sculpts with new plastic arms. The one on the right spent a couple of decades in the corner of the cabinet with the original hybrid arms and an autocannon. Just didn’t suit him and he languished half painted and unloved (albeit with the […]
The ‘Brethren of Ultimate Sanction’ – a batch of models that started with last year’s Oldhammer figure from Ramshackle Games has finally cleared the painting tray. The first two can be seen here http://www.warfactory.co.uk/wp/2016/12/23/brethren-of-ultimate-sanction/
Monk and flagellant
On the left is a Black Tree monk – I bought a pack of 4 in a […]
They don’t seem to be in fashion so much now, but I like a classic old school shield pattern painted on a flat shield. Here’s some I did last year. Usually I make them up as I go along. I paint a base colour on the shield, then I think of something to put on […]
This is a random minor project that seems to have sprung up by itself. A set of mad monks / flagellants has been collecting on my painting table. Their goal is unknown, perhaps they intend to venture into the icy wastes of Frostgrave; although they don’t seem dressed for it, they may welcome the icy […]
Alan gave me this classic model on the condition that I painted him (rather than incarcerating him in a drawer), so for the record – here he is.
Classic Jes Goodwin Chaos Champion
For anyone that doesn’t recognise him, he is one of the 1988-1989 range of Chaos Champions designed by Jes Goodwin. These […]
At BOYL as a reward for putting on a game, I was lucky enough to get a pick from a box of unreleased Citadel wizards (thank you Bryan). I have been gradually putting together a witch-hunter warband for Mordheim and this cleric seemed perfect to lead them. Here he is on the Collecting Citadel wiki […]
As a late entry for Oldhammer Ahoy, we have started work on the Voltsvagn from the WFB 2nd Edition Magnificent Sven scenario. Helpfully the template is printed in the scenario. I scaled it up slightly to the largest that would fit on a piece of A4 – there’s not a great deal of room in […]
A few photos of a really classic model here. I love the way he is stalking forward, his massive axe raised. At any moment he is about to start sweeping it from side-to-side, cutting down lesser creatures like corn. It’s no wonder this would cause fear in creatures under 10′ tall.
The Oldhammer forum is having a challenge where people have to post a newly painted model of a type that they have never painted before.
I had to think quite hard to come up with something that I hadn’t painted before (and I had a model for). I got this fairy as one of the […]
This is an unconverted 80s minotaur lord, which I painted a few years ago. I used not to like the model very much, but after I had worked hard on this one, it’s now one of my favourite minotaurs. One of my favourite bits is the dark bronze metal, which if I remember correctly is […]
