Hittite infantry

At long last got around to revamping the Hittite footsoldiers. I had around 120 from 20 years ago, since when more pictorial interpretations have been published and superior figures produced, unfortunately in 28mm starting with Foundry rather than 15mm. I had a fair stock of unpainted figures, and decided to pad them out with some […]

Biblical City – the Market

Starting to populate the city to get away from the post-apocalypse empty look.

General view of the market;

2 covered stalls, one selling various bit, including some bronze knives, the other selling rolls of cloth.

A melon seller sitting by the well.

Pots for sale.

The slave sale. A rich couple with their […]

15mm Biblical Command Vignettes and sea peoples

Still going on the city, but need a bit of inspiration for the final few buildings. As a distraction, I’ve been finishing off some units and making some command vignettes to make the generals more distinctive.

Inspired by the inscriptions showing the Egyptian battle against the invading Sea Peoples, showing the fighting around the ox-wagons, […]

Building a Biblical City 4

The best sequence for […]

Building a Biblical City Part 3

The buildings are based with Artists mounting board. I have some where the bases are cut to size to fit into a specific position, but I […]

Biblical City Part 2

Next stage was to paint the walls. This is where you find out that the paint from 20 years ago is a bit different, so I decided to give all the walls a coat of Light Stone masonry paint from Homebase. The ground is a cream coloured paint but I wanted to differentiate it a […]

Biblical City in 15mm

This started over 20 years ago when I put together a biblical collection. Peter Guilder’s fault really. I went to the Model Engineer exhibition in the 70s and there were some Hinchliffe Egyptian Chariots in a display case. At school. No money. Fast forward nearly 20 years and I decided I would get me some […]
