Wargames Foundry Darkest Africa figures wind their way through some massive trees. The construction method is described here.
2) Baluchi & yucca plant
The foliage of the yucca plant was made from plastic Christmas tree needles, which were stuck in position with a glue gun.

The texture of this trunk was made by cutting masking tape with pinking shears (the sewing scissors with the zig-zag blades). This was then wrapped round and round the basic stem.
The foliage was made with card reinforced with wire.
A marching column pales into insignificance beside these massive bamboos.
8) Zanzibari & jungle plant
The dried tea used for leaf litter can be clearly seen on the base of this plant. The foliage itself is simply made from plastic aquarium plant leaves.
